 Deadhead miles, in the context of Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT), refers to the distance traveled by a transportation vehicle when it is empty or without passengers on board. These are the miles covered by the vehicle while it is in route to pick up a passenger or after dropping off a passenger at their destination. Deadhead miles do not generate revenue for the transportation provider, as the vehicle is not actively transporting a passenger during this time. 

 This service is available to clients who need the driver/attendant to remain on standby during their appointments or brief errands.
